Hey!!! we are creating fun activities inspired by our Super Sleuths adventures...
So let's get creative, remember you can do these with grownups or on your own!

Do you like colouring in?? Try these Super Sleuth outlines.

1. Our magical land is called Sandlandia.
Create your own imaginary world!
Think about what the countries and people would be like,
What technology would there be,
Would anyone have special powers?
Would there be beaches or jungles or cities?

2. Pick your favourite character and draw them.
Label interesting things about them.

3. The Sleuths use lots of gadgets to help them solve their mysteries.
Create your own gadget!
What problem might it solve?
How might it help people?

4. What magic power would you choose to have and why?
Ask the rest of your family to choose too and then compare what you pick and debate how useful they could be!
Then vote - which power wins?

5. In Sandlandia the sleuths need to be careful of the Jaca and Caws, animals who are really spies for the evil Prince Igor.
Design your own magical animal!
What would they look like?
What skills or powers might they have?

6. Draw a treasure map showing X marks the spot!
Make sure you show dangers and features like hills, swamps and cliffs.
Remember you need a key at the bottom to explain what each symbol you have used means.
Always mark north.
At the bottom give step by step directions for how to get to the treasure...
You can use an old cold slightly wet tea bag to stain the paper to make your map look old!

7. There are lots of palaces and castles in the stories.
Think about ones you have seen and draw them.
Go online and look for images to help.

8. Design or describe your own castle or fortress!
Think about how you would make a castle safe from attack.
Think about battlements, towers, a drawbridge or a moat?

9. Draw your own map of a place (it can be real or imagined).
Remember to use a bird’s eye view as if you are looking down from above.
Always mark north!
Look at our map of Sandlandia to help.

10. Listen again to the description of the jungle in Book 2, Chapter 6.
Draw what you think the jungle looks like!
Add in any extra details.

11. Dress up and act out your favourite bit from the Super Sleuths’ adventures.
Write out your script - add in your own details and ideas!

12. Imagine you are Ana the parrot when she is kidnapped by the evil Countess Rosina!
Write down your thoughts or make a diary.

13. Research pirates and find out who the famous ones were - they were not all in the Caribbean!
Make some Wanted posters for your favourite pirates!

14. Write your own adventure story!
Where will you set it?
Who will your heroes be?
Who will the villains be?
What kind of adventures will they have?

15. Create your own Top Trumps for Super Sleuths!

16. Draw the points of a compass so you know them all.
Use a phone or tablet to see what they look like!
Find out where North is in your house - when you have North you can work out all the other directions.

17. Research sailing ships and how hundreds of years ago we explored the world by sea.
There are some very famous captains - find out everything you can about them!

18. Research an old sailing ship.
Now draw your own, choosing its name and working out its route.

19. The old sailing ships needed wind to go anywhere.
Find out how this worked!
Search up words like: tacking, doldrums and trade winds.

20. Use an Atlas or go onto Google Earth and investigate some exciting parts of our planet...
